Example 11: Examine whether x + 2 is a factor of x3 + 3x2 + 5x + 6 and of 2x + 4.

Prerequisite

To check whether a linear polynomial is a factor of another polynomial of degree great than or equal to 2, the easiest way is to use factor theorem rather than dividing it using long division method which is quite lengthy and time consuming.
